Wedding FAQs

  • Indio/Palm Springs International Airport (PSP): ~22 minutes away

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX): ~2 hours away

Please see accommodation and parking information below!

  • We recommend booking the Holiday Inn Express in Ranchero Mirage, where we’ve reserved a hotel block for our guests just 15 minutes from the wedding venue! Reserve this hotel by calling 760-340-5516 and asking for the Simmons-Yi hotel block / providing the code SYW or by clicking this link. We suggest booking early, as it is based on availability.

A shuttle service will be available at the hotel block to take guests to the venue promptly at 3pm. It will also be available to drop guests off once the festivities end!

  • Our dress code is formal. We request that women wear mid-to-floor-length dresses and men wear slacks.

Note: It is going to be very hot, and both the ceremony and reception will be held outdoors. We recommend wearing breathable fabrics, skipping a tie, putting on sunscreen, and drinking water throughout the day!

  • Please note that there is NO parking available at Casa Tierra. We recommend catching the shuttle leaving at 3:00pm from the hotel block (The Holiday Inn in Ranchero Mirage, 71730 Hwy 111). Traffic gets congested on the road to the venue, so we ask that you arrive by 3:40pm latest to allow time to be seated.

After the reception, we’ve arranged for the shuttle service to drop off guests at the hotel block or the afterparty nearby! The shuttle will also be available to pick up guests from the afterparty at 12am.

  • Our wedding events will be adults-only. We hope you take this opportunity to enjoy a getaway in Palm Desert!

  • We kindly request an unplugged ceremony. Feel free to take photos during our cocktail hour and reception!

Pre-Wedding Homework

Mia and Grant watched this movie not long after they started dating, and it partially inspired their choice of wedding location. If you’re in the mood for a good comedy, they definitely recommend it!

Post-Wedding Excursion

If you’re feeling crazy post-wedding, you’re invited to join the bride and groom on a morning hike in Joshua Tree National Park! We will depart together from the hotel block (Holiday Inn Express in Ranchero Mirage) at 7:15am sharp on Saturday, 3/28.

Note: You must have a car or carpool to enter Joshua Tree and one park ticket per car is required.
